Stock Car Racing - FAQs

Q: Is passing allowed?

Yes. If you approach a slower race car, you will be able to pass.  Passing makes the experience more of an authentic racing experience.

Q: Can I choose which racecar I drive?

Usually, you will be pre-assigned your vehicle based on your height and weight.

Q: What cars will I race?

If your experience is taking place on a Super Speedway you’ll be racing some of the same race cars you have seen on TV in the NASCAR Sprint Cup & Nationwide series. If your experience is on a short track, you will be racing Late Model NASCAR race cars, just like the ones your local stars drive at the weekend. This is because short track racing requires lighter, more agile vehicles.

Q: How fast will I be able to go?

Each level of experience has a target speed, and the speeds will vary according to a driver’s individual performance.

Q: What happens if it rains?

Every effort will be made to allow your experience to take place, however if your event is cancelled through rain, you will be given the option to reschedule on a new track date or be issued a rain certificate to be used within 1 year from the date it was issued. Unfortunately, refunds are not available in the event of rain.

Q: Do I need any prior racing experience?

No racing experience is required, but you must have a valid driver’s license to participate in the driving experiences.

Q: Are there any age requirements?

Participants must be at least 18 years old to drive a race car. For ride along experiences, passengers must be 14 years old and need to be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian.

Q: What is provided?

All participants are provided with a Driver’s Suit, Helmet (with one way radio communication) and a HANS Device.

Q: Are there weight and height restrictions?

NASCAR race cars don’t have doors. Every driver and rider must have the ability to climb through a 15” high by 28” wide window that sits 35” from the ground.

Q: What happens if I damage the car?

You are responsible for your health insurance. An insurance policy is available for $60.00 for damage to the racecar, subject to a $1000.00 deductible. Due to the quality of the training and cars, damage is extremely rare. Drive participants may opt to purchase insurance in advance, or at the track on the day of the event.
