Two adventures roll into one on this incredible Wine Country experience as you explore exotic animals in their natural habitat and cycle along country lanes to visit small, family owned wineries showcasing some of the best wines in the Napa Valley.
There's no better way to discover California's Calistoga wine region and you'll enjoy the best views in the house as you cycle through scenic northern Napa Valley and savor world-renowned fine wines. You'll visit small, boutique wineries in the company of an expert guide and learn more about wine and the wine-making process. Soak up amazing views and discover some of the area's celebrated highlights on a guided wine tour that includes behind the scenes access, barrel tastings and more.
Next up, it's time to head to Safari West to recharge the batteries with a fabulous buffet BBQ lunch as you get ready to enjoy the ultimate ride on the wild side. Hop on board an open air jeep style vehicle to get up close and personal with exotic and endangered wildlife including African Cape Buffalo, Springbok, Eland, Damara Zebra, Scimitar Horned Oryx, Addax, Red Lechwe, and Blue Wildebeest. If you're lucky, you can even look a giraffe in the eye! Complete your adventure with a walking tour through the park where your guide will introduce you to African cheetahs, lemurs, and giant porcupines, among others.
This incredible full day adventure includes hybrid bike and helmet rental, unlimited water and a delicious BBQ lunch. Safari Tour and winery visits are all included in your day as well as transportation between Calistoga and the safari park.Wineries visited on each tour may change on a seasonal basis, however usually included are: Chateau Montelena, Cuvaison, Bennett Lane , Envy, Summers, Lava Vine, August Briggs, Frank Family, Twomey, and Clos Pegase, among others.
Tours take place daily from 9.30 am to 5pm.
Your day begins at 9:30am at Safari West, a wildlife preserve specializing in exotic African animals. You will then be taken by van to the beautiful area of Calistoga where you will begin your morning at some of Napa Valley’s best family-owned wineries while riding a bike through the breathtaking scenery.
After visiting a few wineries and riding for a combined 10 miles or so, you’ll arrive back at the van and head back to Safari West, where you will enjoy a fabulous buffet BBQ lunch.
After lunch, your unforgettable experience on a Safari West tour begins. While riding around in an open air jeep style vehicle, you and your guide will be tracking and learning about exotic and endangered wildlife including African Cape Buffalo, Springbok, Eland, Damara Zebra, Scimitar Horned Oryx, Addax, Red Lechwe, and Blue Wildebeest. If you’re lucky, you could even look a giraffe in the eye! The tour either ends or begins with a walk on the lower premises of Safari West where your guide will introduce you to African cheetahs, lemurs, and giant porcupines, among others. Your day concludes at 5pm.
