A hundred years ago this area was home to fish houses, canneries, industrial factories and textile mills. Today, the air is fragrant with the fresh ocean breeze and scents of coffee houses, bakeries, and award-winning restaurants. You'll spend 2 hours in the company of friendly and engaging tour guides that will take you to several Old Port venues to sample delectable, Maine-inspired foods and enjoy behind-the-scenes access to the restaurateurs and entrepreneurs themselves. Along the way, you will learn about the colorful local history unique to the "Port City."
As you sample the fare at the various stops, our tour guides and proprietors will reveal the history behind their industry, the uniquely Maine products that are used and a little hint or two as to why they are simply award-winning year after year!
Discover the culinary culture of the picturesque Old Port in the company of expert guides. Be prepared to learn, have fun and sample a whole lot of great tasting food on a tasting tour that will linger on the lips as well as on the taste buds.
Tours take place on Saturdays and Sundays at 10.30am. Additional tours are offered during June and October when trips are offered daily at 10.30am.
