What to expect:

During the Fall, thousands of marine mammals congregate on South East Farallon Island (SEFI) to breed and calve their young. This event attracts the largest Great White Sharks in the world where they feed on Elephant Seals before their long trans-Pacific migration. Dramatic encounters and ‘feeding events’ are common on these tours, sometimes right in front of the cage.

Each shark diving cage accommodates four divers at a time and rotations last approximately 30 minutes, alternating throughout the day. Water temperatures average between 52 and 56 degrees F. During your shark diving expedition, decoys are used to attract Great White Sharks to the surface and the cage, a method of shark diving that is accepted for use inside a Marine Sanctuary by the Shark Research Institute.

You’ll learn from experts who spend their lives around Great White Sharks. Throughout the day, you will have the chance to ask questions and gain a new appreciation for these fearsome and amazing creatures.

Expeditions are approximately 12 hours in duration and include an early morning continental breakfast, hearty lunch, snacks and beverages, beer and wine.
