The Russian River provides an amazing vantage point to view Healdsburg as never before and you'll feel at one with nature as you kayak downstream in the company of an expert guide.
Go with the flow in a diverse and dramatic setting as you navigate tight sections of the river and drink in incredible sweeping views across lush green vineyards. Get up close and personal with the amazing local wildlife that call the river their home, including Snowy Egrets, Blue Herons, turtles and even otters. Gaze down at the many types of fish darting below you from Steel head to Salmon and even schools migrating upstream to spawn, depending on the time of year.
The Russian River offers many beaches that are perfect for picnics and you'll be immersed in total calm and tranquility as you enjoy a delicious lunch on the riverbank to the soundtrack of birdsong and the river's lapping waters. After lunch, you'll continue downstream to soak up more scenic sights before reaching your journey's end at Wholer Bridge.
This incredible half day adventure includes hybrid bike and helmet rental, unlimited water, Wine Country picnic lunch, and professional local guides. Tasting fees are not included. Wineries visited on each tour may change on a seasonal basis, however usually included are: Everett Ridge, Lambert Bridge, Michael Bernard, Quivira, Michel Schlumberger, Preston, Bella, Raymond Burr, Rued, and Kokomo, among others.

Tours depart from Memorial Beach in Healdsburg
You’ll meet at Memorial Beach in Healdsburg at 10:00am for a quick safety talk and briefing before your paddling adventure begins down the regal Russian River. Along the way, your guide will tell you fascinating facts about local history and will point out unique flora and fauna. Look out for egrets, herons, cormorants, and even otters along the river bank.
The river is fairly calm with a few areas of Class I rapids; perfect for the enthusiastic beginner and the experienced paddler alike. The tour covers approximately 9 miles on the water and the scenery changes as you make your way downriver from narrow sections of water to wider stretches of river surrounded by vineyards and meadows.
At midday, you’ll be served a picnic lunch along one of the many small beaches at the water’s edge. Next to the glistening water you will enjoy our lunch, and afterwards there will be plenty of time to take a dip in the cool water—the perfect way to refresh yourself in the warm afternoon sun.
At around 3:30pm, you’ll reach your journey’s end where we you’ll take your kayaks out of the water and drive back to your car at the meeting location.
