Explore the wonders of La Jolla Ecological Reserve by kayak and discover a whole new perspective on a breathtaking marine playground that's home to sea lions, leopard sharks, garibaldi and even dolphin!
Perched within a 75-million-year-old sandstone sea cliff, La Jolla's seven sculpted sea caverns provide an incredible voyage of discovery and the only way to really appreciate them is by kayak.
You and a friend will paddle around the caves under the guidance of an expert instructor, gliding past California sea lions sleeping on the cliff or swimming playfully in the water around you. Visit Clam's Cave, named after its unusual double-sided shape where, depending on water conditions, you'll be able steer your kayak directly through the cave itself.
Continue on past La Jolla Cove to the kelp beds to look for seals before paddling to the sandy flats to view the harmless leopard sharks as they swirl through the water beneath your kayak! Finish off this unforgettable kayak tour by surfing your kayak back to shore.
Discover the San Diego area as never before on a guided kayak tour to remember. Included in your session are life jackets, kayaks, all instruction and training as well as transportation of your kayak to the boat launch.
Tours take place on the hour at 9am, 10am, 11am, 12pm, 1pm, 2pm, 3pm, 4pm, 5pm and sunset. During the winter months, a reduced timetable is in place.
