The pristine waters of the San Juan Islands are currently host to over 85 Orca Whales. They are found in the area from May to October due to high concentrations of salmon; their primary food source.
Sea kayaking affords participants the best chance in the lower 48 states to observe orca whales in their natural habitat. Quiet and unobtrusive, double kayaks provide the perfect means for exploring the myriad forms of sea life we encounter.
This trip is designed to provide guests with numerous 'hands-on' opportunities to observe and learn more about these fascinating mammals - in addition to seeing dall porpoise, harbor seals and bald eagles.
Never kayaked before? No worries! These are stable, double kayaks with a rudder for increased maneuverability. The San Juan Islands are accessible by ferry from the Anacortes ferry terminal on the mainland and daily flights from Sea Tac Airport.
This experience is available daily between May and September.
