The Track:
Texas Speedway
This a racetrack located between Denton and Fort Worth, Texas. It hosts races for the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series, the NASCAR Nationwide Series, Camping World Truck Series, and the Indy Racing League. It was the master plan of NASCAR speedway owner Bruton Smith, who wanted to build a multi-million superspeedway in Texas. Ground was broken in August 1995 and the first NASCAR races were held in April 1997.
