Get ready for a trip back in time in our nostalgic, open cockpit flying machine! Here is your chance to take to the skies in what is arguably the most glamorous airplane of the 1930s. This Classic Waco YMF-5C biplane is the only FAA certified, current production 1935, open cockpit biplane in the world. This amazing aircraft is capable of taking two passengers plus the pilot for a real aerobatic thrill ride or scenic tour.
If you choose to be a bit more daring, your pilot will perform exciting and fun aerobatic maneuvers for you and your guest. Try the loop, the roll, the hammerhead, and if you are feeling a bit more adventurous even the spin! Take in the magical sights, sounds and sensations that can only be experienced from an open cockpit Waco biplane.
The Waco can accommodate either 1 or 2 people in the front cockpit. However, if you want to actually fly the airplane, only 1 person can fit in the cockpit with the control stick installed. The maximum weight for a single passenger can be up to, 245 pounds (parachute limitation) if they want to perform any aerobatics, otherwise up to 340 pounds is the maximum weight for the front cockpit, if no aerobatics is desired. However, we do not believe it would be possible to fit someone 340 pounds through the door of the aircraft as it is quite small. The combined weight for 2 passengers in the front cockpit is 340 pounds. Smaller, thinner and shorter is again optimal, but as long as you don't mind a tight and cozy fit, most people can be accommodated by a Waco. We must wear parachutes to do aerobatics with 2 passengers on board.
This experience takes place all year round. However it is weather dependent and can be cancelled due to fog, rain, solid clouds and darkness.
